Our coffee hunter defends Europe’s honor
Jordan Dabov is the only representative of the Old Continent in the special Buyer panel within the framework of Cup of Excellence Honduras
As you know, Cup of Excellence Honduras has already started and our founder Jordan Dabov is one of the international jurors. On the last day of the competition, 31 May, a special panel will be held with the participation of buyers roasters and local producers of specialty coffee.
Who is invited to the panel?
Barely five buyers from roasteries around the world are invited to participate in the panel. Among them is Jordan Dabov, who is not only the only Bulgarian but also the only representative of Europe. The other participants are Kentaro Maruyama from Maruyama Coffee Co (Japan), Kim Dong Wan from Coffee Me Up (South Korea), Adam Matheson from Campos Coffee (Australia), James Combs from Combs’ Coffee (USA).
They will be presented by Erin Wang, Cup of Excellence Senior Manager and Alliance for Coffee Excellence member, who will moderate the meeting with about 60 Honduran farmers who made it to the international jury stage of the competition, other local farmers from the region and the rest of the jury.
What the Buyer panel is all about?
Usually, on the last day of the international week of Cup of Excellence, there is a “farmer forum” when there is time for buyers to talk directly with farmers. This year, though, in Honduras a buyer panel will take place. The buyers will have the chance to talk about what their customers look for and the buyers’ marketplace. Then, farmers will have the opportunity to ask questions.
